1. Collection and use of personal information

As you interact with us there may be opportunities for you to provide information about yourself. We also collect certain information automatically, as described below. The information we collect differs depending on whether you are a student, a professional, or neither.

Students

A student is anyone enrolled in secondary or post-secondary school who joins the Platform for education, training, research, or to receive financial, emotional, personal, or other support from one or more professionals. We collect: first name, last name, email address, phone number, date of birth, address, race, ethnicity, gender, and customized avatar.

Students under 13 may not sign up for an account without a parent or guardian, and such accounts must be owned and managed by the student's parent or guardian. Parents and guardians who sign up on behalf of a student must provide their name, address, date of birth, and social security number to our third-party background check partner.

To receive financial support through the Platform, students under 18 must submit authorization from a parent or guardian and create an account with an approved third-party mobile payment service provider.

Professionals

A professional is anyone who joins the Platform to obtain training material or to support one or more students. All professionals must provide their name, address, date of birth, and social security number to our third-party background check partner.

We also collect information about the students you support, the level at which you support them, and how often you support them.

All users

In addition to the above, we may collect the following categories of information from all users:

• Name, email address, geographic location, phone number, job title, race/ethnicity, education history, partner school.
• Information about connected devices (e.g. IP address, browser type, unique device identifier, cookie data).
• Marketing profile information.
• Photographs and videos you submit.
• Relationships between students and professionals, including messages sent via the Platform.
• Inferences drawn from other personal information (preferences, predispositions, behavior, aptitudes).
• Any other information you choose to provide, including goals, posts, comments, and reactions.

How we use your information

• To provide services and maintain relationships.
• To communicate with you about the Platform, including push notifications.
• To improve the quality, safety, and security of our services.
• To administer your account and process payments.

2. Passive information collection

Through your browser and device: Certain information is collected by most browsers, such as MAC address, computer type, screen resolution, operating system version, and browser type. We also collect device-specific information such as hardware model and mobile network information.
